FAQs

How does it work?

Apply your custom branded frames to instax and Polaroid photos in seconds.

Just remove the easy-peel backing, place in your photo and fold the frame to seal.

IMPORTANT: We sell branded frames, not branded film. Our frames are applied to the film after the photo has been taken. Why? Because it’s impossible to print directly onto instant film. The film is light sensitive and the printing process would cause irreversible damage. - Trust us, we’ve tried!

Instax vs. Polaroid?

Both produce great photos with the same iconic look and feel you expect from an instant film.

Here are a few key points to consider when making your choice;

Instax

  • Film cost: $$
  • Square, Wide, Mini film sizes to choose from.
  • Wide selection of cameras

Polaroid

  • Film Cost $$$$
  • Only one size of film (the one we all know and love)
  • Limited camera options

Ultimately it comes down to cost. Polaroid film is significantly more expensive, so if you're planning on shooting high volumes and budget is an issue, Instax is probably the way to go.

Can I recycle Instax film cartridges?

Yes! Here's what Fujifilm have to say:
If you do not have use for your empty INSTAX film cartridges, contact your municipal recycling department to see if they accept High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) for recycling. If they do, simply put the film cartridges in your recycle bin!
Send it!
If your local municipal recycling department does not accept HIPS, then pack the cartridge in an envelope or box and ship it to Fujifilm for recycling. To help process these recyclable materials, we have partnered with The Burton Center, an organization that gives individuals with disabilities and special needs the chance to help make an impact in their community while learning critical work and life skills.
Please ship empty film cartridges to:
Fujifilm/Burton Center
2605 Highway 72/221 E
Greenwood, SC 29649

For all customers outside of the UK, please contact your local recycling department for the best answer.

Can I recycle Polaroid film cartridges?

Yes! You can! It's not quite as simple as Instax cartridges but here's what Polaroid have to say:

Here are the instructions to recycle your empty Polaroid film pack:

  1. Crush the opening of the film pack (where the film comes out) with your thumbs to create a larger opening
  2. Remove the spring – carefully! Some of the edges are pretty sharp.
  3. Remove the battery – and cover the electrical contacts with tape immediately.
  4. Dispose of the plastic cassette, metal spring and lithium-ion battery separately.
  5. Note: You can dispose of batteries in most stores that sell them, as well as big box stores, supermarkets, town halls, schools and libraries. Your local government authority will have information available to help find the best place for you.

If you are at all uncertain about this process, please get in touch with the Polaroid Customer Support team directly and they’ll guide you through the dismantling procedure safely.

What if my order did not arrive in time?

It is the customers responsibility to place an order within an adequate timeframe of their event. We do our best to print, pack and dispatch within 3-5 days, but once it is with the carrier it is out of our control.

We recommended placing your custom frames order at least 10 days before your event if you are based in the UK and 14 days if you are outside the UK.

In the case of busier postage periods (Christmas, strikes, natural disasters, etc) please allow extra time.

What type of design files do you accept?

PDF (Portable Document Format)

JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)

PNG (Portable Network Graphics)

GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)

These are the formats we would recommend:

For photography: high-resolution JPEGs (preferably un-compressed)

For Graphics or Text: print-ready, vector-based PDFs

For a mix of graphics and photography: print-ready PDFs

Design file formats

Graphics and text designs (basically, any non-photographic content) are best submitted as vector-based PDFs. This will ensure your lines and text are nice and crisp. If you upload JPEGs or PNGs, there may be some fuzziness around your text.

You should also make sure that there are no cut or crop lines, all transparencies have been flattened, overprint is switched off and any fonts used are embedded, before saving your designs. For best results, we recommend using the following preset to preflight your designs: Adobe PDFx1a 2001

Photo file formats

You can upload photos in the same format you import them from your digital camera (normally JPEG). We do however accept the following file formats: JPEG, PNG, and PDF.

Please note: we do not accept RAW files.
